Ilya Roubanis
PhD (EUI, Florence) | Political Analyst

SHORT BIO
I am a policy analyst and political communication consultant.
For over a decade, I have worked as a shadow-writer for cabinet minister, parliamentarians and diplomats, developing bespoke political content that matched their role and mandate.
I was fortunate to be engaged in iconic political campaigns across Europe, from the Caucasus to Brussels. My work is all about creative engagement and strategic messaging.
Born in London to Greek parents, I have lived, worked and studied in Belgium, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, and the UK.
As a researcher, I have worked for think tanks, international organisations, and universities. Assuming roles ranging from research assistant to research coordinator, I have experience in EU-wide policy development and documentation.
My current research focus is on the effect of Eurosceptic political discourse on the European periphery: the UK (Brexit), Western Balkans, the Eastern Partnership, and Turkey.
